 A good breeder is breeding for quality not quantity. Anyone can breed two dogs together and create puppies. It takes time, planning, and knowledge to create excellence! I do not breed just to breed. For me the purpose of breeding is to create what the breed is suppose to be according to the AKC standard. I show my dogs to confirm that what I am breeding is worthy of being bred. With this in consideration. I do not breed just any two dogs together. I breed for quality, structure, health, and tempermant. It takes years of knowledge to study pedigrees, to know the dog you are breeding, and the dogs behind them, what traits they carry, and what traits you want passed down or eliminated. You choose two, that together with their backgrounds would make a great litter. Most good breeders, can pretty much determine what their litter will be. Not the number or the sex, but the color and the look they are trying to acheive is pre-planned. This might not make sense to some, but in shorter terms. I don't just breed to breed, I don't just pair up any two "frenchies" and breed for profit. I breed for perfection. I have a select few here, and when I do a breeding it's planned, I don't always use my own stud, if I think a better suited male is 200 or 800 miles away I drive there and pay top dollar, because each and every litter is important. I breed to produce show quality dogs for myself. Not every puppy is show quality even if both of the parents are champions. It's up to the breeder to decide if the puppy is show quality or pet quality and this can usually be determined at 9-12 weeks.  I do not keep everything I produce, because I want my dogs to receive attention,  all mine are indoors, too many means less time for each individual one here. So when I do have a litter, I pick what I want out of the litter, and if I'm lucky enough and have one or possibly two extra, then I may have a pet puppy available. I do not have frequent litters, but usually know who does, either nearby or can refer you to a "good breeder, so if I don't have what your looking for, feel free to contact me for a referral. You don't have to buy from me, but whatever you do... do not buy the cheapest frenchie you can find, believe me you'll pay $ for it later, and remember you get what you pay for. Research your breeder before making a instant decision.
